Internship at FOLKFORM

Before starting my studies at Konstfack in Stockholm I had the incredible opportunity to intern at FOLKFORM a design studio that takes a craft-based design approach to challenge the value of objects.

While working with them I undertook several mini projects, including designing a flag for outside their studio that represented their aesthetic style and brand values. I chose to hand make the flag, using pieces of different textured materials to create their logo on one side, and I used the traditional technique of hand embroidery to write the company name on the other.

I also acted as the studio design research assistant as I worked alongside Anna drafting an academic article to define their process of craft-based design research. I found this really interesting as it allowed me to gain a deep understanding of their practice and methods.
